Cate Florey Studio began after Cate and her family relocated to the Pacific North West in 2012. After a career in real estate in Southern California, Cate welcomed the opportunity to be home with her children full time. Sharing her interest in stamped words on jewelry with Elva, one of her last real estate clients in California, Cate was gifted a set of metal fonts that Elva had used to stamp her tools in her shop. Cate tucked them away and after moving to her farm in Arlington found them and gave hand stamping a try. It was that first font set that got it all started.
Building a creative studio on her farm was a dream come true for Cate. Hand stamping one letter at a time while hearing stories of why words speak so powerfully to women and listening as women gather with friends in her studio and at events motivates Cate the most. “So many women come to me and share their stories through their words. I’ve begun to write those words all over my bench as a tribute to these brave women. I’m truly honored to have my business, create keepsake jewelry and accessories and to be there for my girls to watch me create and interact with my community, one word at a time!”
