Private studio time consists of a hand-stamping/metal-smithing class. Participants have full access to Cate’s bench and tools with hands-on experience in hand stamping along with a basic tutorial.
Hand-stamping jewelry is harder than it looks, Cate offers her expertise in creating a piece of hand-stamped jewelry for each guest, or they can stamp their own if they would like (usually, after the bench experience, they ask Cate to make it for them). Either way, everyone has a lot of fun!
Guests are welcome to bring food and drinks. Cate Florey Studio is in Arlington, Washington, 4 miles North of Granite Falls. When you arrive, you will find ample parking, three curious alpacas, and one llama named “Maui”, who will greet you upon arrival from across the pasture. A patio with Edison lights and tables, weather permitting, is an excellent space for gathering and connecting with each other. Cate’s farm is aglow these days with our one hundred-plus-year-old big leaf maple tree. Depending on the season, you will either enjoy the sweet shade or fall colors. This tree is an anchor to Cate’s farm and a customer favorite for photography. It’s a great backdrop for photos during the afternoon and early evening before dark.
The cost is $40 per person, which includes one hand-stamped piece of jewelry made while guests gather, or guests can choose a small leather journal (journals are custom made and delivered after the event – they are not made during the event). Once a date is booked, Cate requests a 50% deposit to hold your date. Balance paid at the event. Max 12-16 people.
Event duration is usually 2-4 hours, depending on the number of people attending.
